"VTOTICE is hereby given that, the j\ rate made by the Road Board for the above-mentioned district on the 18th day of August, 1884, of three farthings in the £ having been declared invalid by an order or judgment of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, it is the intention of the said Road Board, under or by virtue of the power or authority vested in it by the 43rd and 14th sections of " The Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act 1882," or either of them, at a meeting of the Board to be held on the 24th day of October, instant, to make or strike a general rate of three farthings in the £ upon the rateable values of the rateable property appearing in the valuation roll of the above-mentioned district in force for the year ended on the 31st day of March, 1885; such rate to be payable in one sum at the office of the Board, situate in Manchester street, Feilding, on the 26th day of October, instant. N.B. — The rate- book is open for inspection at the above-mentioned office ef the said Board between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Dated this 7th day of October, 1885. EDMUND GOODBEHERE, Clerk. Memorandum. — The rate collector will be instructed, in collecting the above-mentioned rate, to give credit to all those ratepayers who have paid the invalid rate made on the 18th day of August, 1884, above referred ' to, for the sums which have been respectively paid by them in respect of such rate.
