By the arrival of the ketch Anna at the Bluff (says the Southland TimesJ all surmises that the missing ship North American has been wrecked at the Auckland Islands are dispelled, as Captain Wood reports that he lay three weeks at the islands, and saw no traces of any wreckage, In the Synod last week in Wellington, on the motion of Col. Gorton, it was resolved, That the word " communicant" should mean any church member who had communicated at least once witbin 12 months prior to his nomination for election as a member of any Synod, this tb apply to all oanons in reference to church elections.
