Small Farm Association

«. Mr Jeffries returned from a visit to the land selected by the Feiiding Small Farm Association on Thursday last. He informs us that the land is of first class quality, well wooded and watered, easy of access and offerring no spocical difficulties for clearing. He walked many miles over the country and found it level, with just sufficient fall for natural drainage. The bush is open, with a few large rimu trees, matai, a few totara and white pine, all in sufficient quantity for fencing and firewood. Some of the rimu trees are very large, measuring nine feet through, about five of six feet from the ground. The laud is far better than he expected to find. He dug down in several places and found in every instance excellent sub-soil. The soil is very like that of Kiwitea aud quite as rich. As soon as* the land is surveyed and the sections allotted, Mr Jeffries will place his son on a selection where he is confident that a good living is to be got by ordinary industry and care. Mr Jeffries desires to thank Mr Mountfort, who is making the surveys, for his hospitality and kindness. Mr Mountsfort desires that any persons visiting the block, will give notice beforehand to Mr Edmund Goodbehere, the secretary, who will send up by the packers, so that a person may be at the end of track to show strangers tho way into the camp.
