[SBUTEBS TELEGRARMS.I Sydney, September 14. It is announced that the new cable ratei from Europe will be two shillings and eightpence per word for press messages, and eight and tenpence per word for prirate telegrams. The cable-repairing steamer Sherard Osborn has armed here from Singapore, aad proceeds to Tasmania t* lay the duplicate cable between that colony and Victoria. She next goes to New Zealand to repair the Cook Straits' cable. Adelaide, September 12. A splendid rainfall has occurred throughout the colony, and the prospects of the coming crop are now good.
