The Pohangina Reefs
We abserve that several of our contemporaries continue to affirm that they have solid ground for believing, that gold lias been discovered at Pohangina. We do not intend to attempt t© dispute the accuracy of the information they have received, and on which they pin their faith. But we most distinctly aver that we uphold the accuracy of the report furnished by the men sent out by the Feilding Association, and that of the Executive Committee which affirms no gold, or evidences of its presence were discoverable in the specimens brought in by the prospectors. We do not say that gold may not be found, but as yet we ] have no reason to think it will be. We deprecate any attempt to get up a " duffer rush.," and hope miners will not be encouraged to come over here to be disappointed. We state emphatically that we do not believe a single grain of gold has been as yet discovered in the Pohangina.
