CHOLERA IN SPAIN. [bBUTIBS TBLKOBABMB.I London, September 1. It is announced that AT. de Freycenit has requested to the English Government to make full enquiry into the circumstances attending the reported death of Olivier Pain.
Statistics up to the present time give mortality in Spain from cholera as 83,000.
In an electioneering address, the Mar* guis of Hartington denounced fair trade and the compulsory division of the land.
The steamer Pert Darwin sailed on the 15th instant for Sydney, taking 300 men as reliefs for the reisels belonging to the Australian Squadron.
Sir Bobert Hart, whe was recently appointed to the position of British Minister at Pekin, has resigned that appointment, and will resume his former office ef Chiaeve Cemmissioner of Customs.
Mr W. G. George, ef Birmingham, the Champion amateur ieng^distance runner, hat defeated Mr W. Cumingi, »f Paisley, the celebrated leng- distance man, in a mile face.
