POLITICAL CRISIS AT WELLINGTON.
(fbom oxtb own cobbespokdent.)
In the House of Representatives last night Mr Macandrew moved an amendment on Major Atkinson's first resolution, and carried it by twelve. Then Mr Fyke moved an amendment of noconfidence to Mr Macandrew's amendment, and lost it by four votes. Then Mr Hislop moved an addendum to Mr Macandrew's amendment of no-confi-
dence, the numbers going very close. The motion for adjourning the debate was carried against the Government by the Speakers casting vote. There was immense excitement on the last division. Every effort is being made on both sides. It is believed the Government will be defeated by a majority of one, but with so narrow amajority no one can tell till the division takes place.
