School Committee
♦— A meeting of the Feilding State School Committee was held on Monday evening last. Present — Messrs Nicholas (chairman), Watts, Eade, Rutherford, Worsfold, Cottrell and Foster. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The master's usual monthly report was read, showing average roll — boys, 147 ; girls, 148 ; total, 295. Average attendance — boys, 110; girls, 110; total, 220. Tbe master asked for repairs to school and residence which was left to the secretary to get done. A report from the Inspector was read, showing the school to be working very satisfactorily. A letter was read from Mr Hammond, Truant Inspector, enclosing his resignation, which was accepted. Resolved, That an advertisement calling for appbcations for the post of Truant Inspector be sent to the Star. Resolved, That the -secretary draw a cheque for £1 for petty cash. Accounts amounting to £2 were passed for payment, after which the committee adjourned.
