STEVENS AND GORTON'S STOCK REPORT.
Bulls, August 12,
Messrs Stevens and Gorton report : — We held a sale of pigs, bacon, and working plant in connection with the Bacon Factory at Greatford, in the bankrupt estate of W. B. Retemeyer, on Saturday. We quote the following prices: — Good bacon pigs, from 35s to 435; forward bacon pigs, 32s 6d to 34s 6d ; store pigs, 16s to 16s 6d ; small, 3s ; hams, smoked, per lb, 9d to lOJd ; bacon, smoked, 7£d toߣd. At Palmerston our yards yesterday were filled with 250 head of a good class of cattle, and six pens of sheep. The attendance was large. Fat cows, £4 Ids to £6 2s 6d; store cows, £2 12s 6d to £2 17s; milkers, £3 10s to £6 10s; 2-yeaT-steers, £3 ; 2£-year steers, £3 15s ; 2£ to 3-year steers, £3 18s ; mixed yearlings, 32s 6d to 378 6d ; fat wethers, 13s 6d ; fat ewes, 12s ; forward wethers, 10s 9d ; lambs, 6s ; draught colt, £11 ; draught gelding, £21.
