The Post says— Stevens and Harding of Feildihg, have a somewhat peculiar exhibit at the exhibition. It consists of a map plan of this city and harbour, it two extreme points of which are fixed wooden model telescopes connected with an arrow indicator,, supposed to be in' position in the chief Fire Brigade Station, The idea is electrical communication between the vantage sights represented taffr the telescopes and <£c principal Firei Brigade Station, the turning of "th* telescopes pointing the indicator: then immediately to the direotion or locality of a fire. The principle is also adaptable as a means of indicating when a' hostato vessel passes immediately over the spot at which a torpedo is sunk in the harbor. The. model will well repay a careful perusal, and is ingeniously constructed, and the authorities might with advantage consider its claims to practicability.
