NEW BUILDINGS.
I TO THK EDITOB 07 THE STAB. Sir, — I notice that the ewners of two or three buildings that have lately been erected within the Borough have not complied with the bye-law making it compulsory upon persons building within the limit of the Borough to roof with iron instead of shingles. Why is the bye-law not enforced? The fulfilment of this law is a great safe guard against fire, and ought certainly to be rigorously enforced. To make laws and then allow them to be indiscriminately broken seems absurd — lam, Ac, Crrizur.
