The Poultry and Produce
A meeting of the' committee of the Rangitikei-Manawatu Poultry and Produce Society was held in Mr Bray's office on Saturday evening last. Present — Messrs Sherwill (president), F. Goodbehere (f or the secretary), Bray, Arnott, Worsfold, Evans, J. Bartholomew, Reading and. Sandilands. •■.... The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. 1 It was. reported that the proof sheet of the schedule was not yet out of the hands ef the printer, and it was Agreed that this matter be left in the hands of the advertising and printing committee. The special prize ' committee ■, were not fully prepared with their report,;, but stated that the following special prices had been , promised :r- Mr, I/. , Holden, one turkey cock and, two hens for anything" the committee may choose; Mr Pollock, a cake, ditto; Mr Lowers, ids for best turkjpy, cock and hen; Mr Clapham 5s for best black cat ; Mr Roe 10s each for best black brahmav , dark game, black epanish, and ba'rn-dbor' fowls ; Mr Hastie, 10s f^or .best; .light Brahma ; Mr t Ku^ii ipa, for. .pest vj)air of Ayleebury ducks ; Mr Evans, pair of fowls for second best ditto; Mr Sherwill 10s (not specified) ; Mir: Chamberlain 50 lbs of flour ditto.. . .
