HALCOMBE AND SHERWILL'S STOCK REPORT.
Yesterday we hold here *-ni> of the most successful i>ales that hare tnken place for aome very considerable period. The attendance was numerous, unending purchasers beiojs present from Wanganui and further up the coast. Sheep quite maintained their late values, and there was a decided rise upon late values of cattle. We yarded 260 head of cattle, 32«> nheep, and 40 pigs. The whole were disposed of with the exception of 350 fat wethers, for which we were offered 12s 9d at auction, but declined. Prices realized : Cattle— Fat cows, £3 19s tm £4 10s ; 3-yr bullocks, £5 19s to £6 13s 6d ; 2-yr bullocks, £4 4s ; 18-month steers, £3 145 ; store cnws. £2 to £2 6s and £2 135 ; dairy cows, £2 lis to £5 ; yearlin-js, £1 10s to £2 ss ; weaners, £1 to £1 7s ; 2-yr heifers, £1 16s. Sheep— Fat wethers, 13s 6d ; fat ewes, 10s 6d ; store wetbers, 8s 8d to 9s ; ewes in lamb, 6s ld to 10s 2d ; lambs in wool, 4j 2d to 7s. Pigs. 6s to 13s. Draught entire, £19. Hacks dull of sale.
