ErKK CNTTBD PBESS ASSOCIATION.] WELMNftTON, July 9. On the motion for the second reading of the Legislative Council Bill a division was taken with the following result: — Ayes, 16; noes, 26. The second reading was therefore negatived. — The question was next put, That Sir F. Whitaker's amendment be agreed to — Ayes, 20; noes, 20. — The Speaker gave his casting vote with the ayes, and the amendment was carried. The following; committee was appointed to ballot: — Messrs Buckley, Richmond, G. R. Johnson, Shepherd, Pollen, Maatell, Menaies, and Stevens.
