Curious stories reach Dongola of what Iho Arabs say of us:— " The Inglesi," po one Sheikh writes to another, '* hare all a good plan of fighting. They stapd still, and wait for. us, andrthen they fire;, thus we loss a greai'many. _But when one Inglees is killed or wounded, another takes him away on his back, and another takes his place. Thus in, batt^ you do not see huge piles of dead miied with wounded among the Ihglesi as it is with us; arid- the ground is not obstructed with the dead.
