Manawatu-Rangitikei Poultry and Produce Society

A meeting of this society was held in Mr Bray's offioe on Saturday evening last. Present Messrs Bherwill„ (one of the Vice Presidents) EJ Goodbehere, (Secretary and Treasurer) J. Bartholomew, Saxton, J. Wilson, Towler, H. Worsfold, T. Evans, Read- . I ing, Kirton, Bray, Curtis, and* Sandilands. Mr Sherwill - presided. A list was made out of persons willing to become members of the society, which was signed by all present. It was resolved that the secretary be empowered to have 200 members* tickets printed at once, and distributed for sale. Resolved, That the settlers of Palmerston, Bulls, and Marton be invited to cordially co-operate' in promoting the success of thb Uext show, and that Messrs Smith (Manawatu Times), Bull and Retemeyer of the above places respectively, ba written to requesting them.tp interest them- •. selves in securing such co- operation. "Messrs Towler, ,T. Evans and Ji Bartholomew were, appointed %. committee to canvas for special prizes. A list of special prizes was opened, and several were promised in the room. The name of Mr Arnbtt was added to the committee. Messrs Sherwill, Saxton and Braywere appointed a schedule committee. A number of items were added to the catalogue . including vehicles hames*, implements, gates, hurdles, models of various descriptions, and other articles of local produoe and industry. - After resolving to meet again that night fortnight at the eaine hour and place the committee adjourned.
