Anticipating Events
Somebody gave a little French girl a tiny umbrella. She was delighted with the present, and bore it triumphantly about with her all day long. " I shall carry it all my life," she exclaimed. " No, you won't," said a little friend, whose thoughts, as i> often the case with French ladies, ran in a matrimonial groove. " You won't carry it on your wedding day. What will you d« then ?" " lishall give it to my children to hold for me."
