There is probably no art of industry which requires— for the production of good work— greater care and attention to details than does the art of photography. The public are little aware ef the numerous appliances and processes used in a first-class photographic establishment. A visit to Mr Martin's studio at Wanganui will prove this te be so, for it is here we find numerons rooms, each having its own departmental work and a staff of assistants to carry on that work. We also find electricity is employed in producing the beautiful stippled effect for which Mr Martin's work is so mnch admired. But the roost interesting snd, we must say, to onr mind, the most com plicated process is that of enamelling; the marvellous beauty imparted to the photograph by this process is truly astonishing, and we are assured by Mr Martin that the enamelling not enly produces this beautiful appearance, but renders the picture permanent by means of its air- tight and damp-proof coating. A visit to Wangnnm, if for nothing else than to be photour.tphed at Mr Martin's, would be a highly satisfactory way of spending a day.— [Advt.] JJjHM_ta-W-M-M-a_i
