Daring Highway Robbery

TWO BANK OFFICIALS ROBBED OF £1155. i [Rbutke's Tblbobihs.l Mblboubnk, June 3. A. most daring robbery was committed this morning about 10 o.clock at Simpson's lioad branch of the National Bank of Australasia, which had cloned jesterdaj afternoon with no money on the premises. Ob the arrival of Mr Humphries, manager of the branch, accompanied by Mr Bradshaw, his clerk, from tho chief establishment, bearing £1000, both were attacked by three ma«ked men, two of whom presented revolvers, whilst a third brandished a crowbar. Messrs Humphries and Bradshaw were everawed by the suddenness of the attack and the threatening manner of the rob-na. Both officials were knocked down, their hands securely strapped behind their back*, the manager's revolver then takes front his person, and the robbers decamped with £1155, of which £955 was in notes, £100 in gold, and the balance in silver. j
