Rangitikei Poultry and Produce Society
A general meeting of the above Society was held in the Town Hall, Bolls, on Tuesday afternoon. About twenty Members were present, Mr Betemeyer, the president, occupying the chair. The Chairman explained that he had called a general meeting instead ef ait annual meeting, to appoint a secretary, and decide where the next show was to be held. His reason for calling the meeting so early was because the shewlast year was held too late in the season. He had sent post-cards to the prinoipal supporters in the other towns, asking them to held meetings and appoint delegates to attend this meeting. The only response he had received was front Feildiag, and Mr SherwUl, who was present, attended as a delegate from that tows. Mr Sherwill said that on receipt of tho pott<eard he called a meeting. They bad a very good meeting, and it was unaaimously resolved to try to get the next show held at Folding, the members pledging themselves to do all in their power to make it a sue« ess if the present meeting agreed to the proposal. It was further suggested that, in the event of Feilding having the honour of the next shew, Mr E. Uoodbeherebe recommended as secretary. It was unanimously resolved, on tho motion of Mr Richards, seconded by Mr Munro, "That the next show be held at Feilding." The accounts were read, which showed a credit balance in the bank of £11 8 a 10d. This was considered very satisfactory. Proposed by Mr Sherwill, seconded by Mr Stevenson, " That Mr E. Goodbokero be appointed secretary, and. empowetjd to operate on the bank account." * [ The motion was carried nem. «Ua. | Proposed by Mr Sherwill, seconded by Mr Saxon, " That the next show bo held en Thursday, September, 10th."— Carried. Proposed by Mr Sherwill, seconded by Mr Munro, "That the secretary be paid £5 5s for his services to the society for the year." -Carried. : "■■'■; Thw was all the business, and the meeting adjoined after a vole o£ thanks to the Chairman.
