A Building Society
A correspondent who has adopted the very apropos name of "Thrift" writes to-day on the subject of the formation of a Building Society for Feilding, and we recommend his letter to the careful perusal of those who are desirous of assisting in the formation of a co-opera-tive society, which would have such a manifest influence over the progress of the Borough. The demand of persons for houses is increasing day by day, but the required capital does not lie in their hands to erect at once. In each instance that has come under bur notice the parties have been and are in a position to pay a sum in rent which w6uld be equal to the contributions they would have to make to a society which advanced, them the money to acquire a freehold. The system is beneficial to everyone connected therewith.. .The investor gets a good return for hid* money, while -Hie borrower is actually paying 1 capital and interest by an amount which he otherwise would pay away ; in. rent; We hope the mpvem'ent will receive encouraeementtrom evexprpne., 0 ,,. .„!) .-,..• ;
