" Hamlet" alone contains about 80, "Richard III," i nearly 50, "Henry V." and " Itich- ' ard II," about 40 each. Shakespeare quotes from 51 of tb« Biblical books H»d not one of his 37 plnys is without a Scriptural reference. Genesis furnishes the poet with 31 quotations or allusions. . the Psalms with 59, Proverbs with 35, Isaiah with 21, Maihew with 60, Luke with 33, and Roman* with 23.
