Easter Monday

♦ Those who are eager in the pursuit of pleasure will have every opportunity of attaining their object on Monday next. The great attraction will be the Feilding Race Sleeting which promises to bo even more successful than that of last year. The entries are quite as numerous, and the several events will be as interesting. ' The stewards have had; the course put in splendid order, and no minutiae haye been omitted which will cater to the convenience of the owners of horses and the 'visitors'. There is also every promise, of a large attendance of that section of the public who delight in legitimate sport which is promoted for their .^benefit, and that alone. The PalmersiSon Race Meeting; which' froma mistaken knowledge ( of the fitness of things, is appointed to-xdke plaoe on the same day, will probably not be a success, as a strong feeling against it has<been excited in the, minds of a, number of racing people, by the petty spirit displayed in starting a meeting, in opposition to Feilding. More especially as this line of action can only do harm -to both clubs, and benefit no one, except perhaps a very small section of the Falmerston community. - .The - arrangements as to the : time of the arrival and departure of the trains are most excellent, and ought to suit every one. > Given fine weather the Feilding Race Meeting for 1885 should prove,.* great; success. : , ; .
