35 A.O/ FOR BIG GUN DRILL. £100.000 WORTH WAR MATERIAL ORDERED. [PKB UNITID PBKBS A^SOCIATIeK.J Wellington. March 13. The Stella has gone to Opunalre to bring down thirty-fire A.C.'s. It is understood they are t« be drilled, in the use of heavy battery guns, which are to be mounted to protect the barb >ur. It is also understood that instructions have been wired to the Agent-General for the purchase of war material to the value of upwards of £100,000, according to the recommendation of Major (autley, as required in connection with his defence scheme.
