Wellington. March 10. Gfeorge Thomas reports:— A good demnnd is existing for potatoes, which are valued at 55* to 60s. Oat«, the new crop of which is now fairly coining forward, it steady at 2s 3d to 2» 6d per bvshel. AH fowls' feed is ruling at exceedingly low rates. Barley may be quoted nominally at 2s to 2s 3d ; wheat ha« excellent sale at 2s 9d to 2s lid ; maize, 5s to 5s 3d ; beans remain scarce from 3s 9d to 4s ; peas, market full, 3s ; fl*ur, unaltered, LB lss to L 9 ; oatmeal, Ll3 10s ; pollard is being shipped largely to Sydney, which has tended to raise prices, and a very general demand is vetting in at from L 6 to L 5 ss ; bran, plentiful, 4s; onions are becoming too plentiful, and to quote higher than L 7 10s would be to quite mislead consignors ; pearl barley firm, L2O ; cheese may now •c said to have a fixed value of 5d for prime parcels ; hamf (clothed) are scarce, and worth lljd ; bacon, 9d, for Canterbury factorj cure.
