Intense excitement' has been caused here by a daring and well-planned attempt to damage the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London by dynamite explosions.. Early this afternoon the first explosion occurred, dynamite having been lodged in the first crypt under Westminster Hall. Tho windows of the hall were- smashed by the concussion, and a large hole made in the floor, two policemen and a^ visitor who were present, 'beiog seriously in j tired. A few minutes later a aecond explosion occurred^ the spot being under the Stranger's Gifcllery-iir the House of Commons., % The western end of the Chamber was completely wrecked by the f qrce.of the^explpsive. One person who i-^siispected of having caused the explosion was arrested b-U.lfe-spot. A third explosion: Oocuared about the same time, thoscehe^beihgatfhaWhito Tower 'of the -Tower of Lbridon. Numer^usvisitors; were present at tho time,' and, \ four persons were* severely injured.' The windows in theiheighb^urhpod were broken, aud the build,ings sustomed considerable datfta^e.
