Masonic Lodge at Marton

• On Thursday last the brethren from many of the Lodges on this coast assembled in Marton to assist at the consecration of a new Lodge, to be called the Euapehu, and the ceremony of installing the officers in their several positions. The Foresters' Hall, which will be used as a Lodge until moro suitable premises be erected, was very nicely arranged for the ceremony. Accommodation was provided for the public in the gallery of the Hall, which was filled with ladies and gentlemen who were gratified spectators of the interesting ceremony of dedication and consecration. The whole of the brethren were marshalled, according to rank and precedence of Lodges, at the rear of the Hall, and were marched into the Hall, when the Grand Lodge was opened by Acting Deputy District Grand Master, Bro. K. Wilson, D.G.S.W. (Wellington), P.M. 1521, 8.C.; Acting District Grand Director of Ceremonies, Bro. Carley (Wellington), P.M., 469, 1.0. ; Acting District Grand Senior Warden, Bro. Brown, D.G.S.D. The minutes of the meeting of brethren who formed the Lodge having been read, the^ Dispensation from .the D.G.M. was also read, after which the choir, under the leadership of Bro. Norberg, sang the hymn " Lead "Kindly Light." Then followed a reading from the Psalms and prayer, after which corn, the emblem of peace and prosperity, was scattered on the tesselated floor, on which was also poured wine, emblematical of joy and gladness, and oil as a symbol of unanimity, suitable stanzas being sung after each act. The customary declaration was then made and the Old Hundred sung by the choir and all the brethren. This closed the proceedings as far as they were public, and the gallery was cleared of visitors. The following were duly installed as officers : — Bro. Francis Arkwright, W.M. ; Bro. W. E. H. Edwards, S.W. ; Bro. A. M. Eoberts, J.W. ; Bro. Milligan, secretary ; Bro. Cash, treasurer ; Bro.
