Shocking Love Tragedy in Naples

A horrible tragedy occurred in a by-street of Chiaja; where a mother was nursing her daughter, a girl of 17, ill of cholera. The. lover of the girl called, and wanted to enter the sick-room, but was opposed by the mother, who had always been averse to his suit. The young man, enraged, drew a revolver, shot the mother through the heart, and wounded the girl in the forehead. The .murderer fled, and was found a few hours later in the cemetery, where he had tried to shoot himself, but had failed, and was carried wounded to the hospital.
