■* [beutebs telegrams.] Caibo, January 7. Lord Wolseley has telegraphed from Korti announcing that Col. H. Stewart, with the cavalry convoy, starts for El Metemneh, a village a short distance to the south of Shendy, on the left bank of the Nile, on Thursday next. It is ex pectedthat El Metemneh will be reached and occupied on the 15th instant, and if a steamer is available there, regular communication with General Gordon will be opened forthwith. ; January 8. : Telegrams from Korti state that the Black Watch (Ist Battalion of Royal Highlanders) have arrived at Korti, and proceed to Merawi to-morrow. Received January 10. 1.25 a.m. Caibo, January 8. The latest telegrams from Korti state that Col. Sir H. Stewart started to-day for Gakdul with the 19th Hussars, Camel Corps, Sussex Regiment, and Naval Brigade. At Gakdul the Sussex Regiment remains to hold the position and pretect .the wells. The Guards, who are now at Gakdul, will then join the other troops under Col. Stewart, and his forces will proceed to El Metemneh, as previously arranged. .
