The N.Z.L. & M.A. Company report Under -date January 1 :— Hides. Bunedin,— Good heavy weights, sound and free from cuts, have more inquiry, hu* of these the supply is limited. Light and medium weights continue to reali*e prices equal to those quoted last month. Christchurch.— The demand continues Steady for all descriptions at our quotations, heavies being in most request. Auckland. -There is no difficulty in placing all coming to hand at from 3d to 3£d perlb. Wellington.— These are without change Napier. — Very few have come in to auction, and there has been no alteration from our last month's quotations. Gisborne.— The market is without change. Light to heavy ranging from 2|d to 3£d. Wangahui. j Potatoes.— A fair stock of old potatoes still exists, but the qualities are so very irregular, that buyers only operate timidly. New potatoes are now freely offering in small parcels. — Wheat. — No change in prices. Large stocks on hand, tat qualities are not up to milling grades, Prices are merely nominal. — Oats. — First class samples are scarce, and are selling at or over our quotations.
