With regard to the United States wheat crop (tin exchange says), Mr S. W. Talma»e presents the following figures as the final estimate for ]884 : —The figures are based on the official reports m*de by the State, agricultural departments and satisticel agents in different States and territories. The report shows the total production of winter wheat as 380,000,000 bushe s and the total of spring* wheat UjO,000,000; total, winter and spring--53' ,000.000 bushels. Tins makes rhe yield oi the country 25,000,000 bushels more than ever before produced, and 130.000,000 more than :ast years crop, and 80,000,000 more than the average crop for the past five years. The departments all agrte in reporting the quality as sup rior, and where it has been threshed they say tbe yield has more than met their calculations. This applies especially to the spring 1 wheat sections of lowa, Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The quality of springwheat was never better The spring wheat harvest has been late, but the weather has been favourable, and the grain is being cared for in excellent condition.
