[PEB UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Chbistchubch, This Day.. The Auckland v. Canterbury crioket match was continued yesterday; W. J. Cotterill, and Secretan, the two Canter* bury not outs, going in to the bowling of M eldrum and D. Lynoh. The day's play certainly demonstrated that Canterbury batsmen were too much for this team of Auckland. The bowling was punished severely. Mills bowled splendidly all through yesterday, and took most of the wickets. When Cotterill was bowled, the score stood at 115 for two wickets, and runs came on apace. Wilding's innings of 104 was remarkable for the hardest hitting and fastest scoring seen in Christchurch this season. Secretan made the next best score (72) by fine cuts and tree hitting. The innings closed for 347. Half an hour before time was called Mills and Coxton went to the wickets for Auckland. The former was soon bowled and Testro took his place. When time was called Auckland had scored 18 runs for one wicket.
