[Reuters telegrams.] Received January 3, 1.15 a.m. Cairo, January 1. , Lord Wolseley has received at the hands of an Arab messenger a piece of paper signed " Gordon," and with the words " All right, December 14th " written upon it. Mudir Dongola has telegraphed stating that Mahdi has been repeatedly repulsed witb heavy loss by General Gordon's troops at Onderman, a village a short distance to' the south-west of Khartoum, and withdrawn to Jabtira, j two days' journey to the southward. He j also refused to lead the army against Dongola. London, January 2. ! Rumors, which have gained credence here, are current to the effect that a conference of the Powers on the Egyptian question is about to take place at Paris.
