STEVENS & GORTON'S STOCK REPORT. We held a very succesfnl opening sale at our new yards at Woodville, on the l9lh instant. We yarded over 21)0 head of ■at tie. The attendance was large, and the bidding for steers spirited. We sold over 190 head at the following rates :- Beef, L 7; 3-yr steers, L 4; 2 to 3-yr •steers, L 3 2s 6d to L 3 12s 3d ; yearling steers, 32s 6d to L 2 ; 3-year heifers, L 3 10>: vearhug heifers, Ll ; cows and ; calves, L 2 IOs; to L 3 10s; milch cows L 3 to L 4 15s. At Awahuri our stock sale was well attended, and the bidding more spirited tfiau it has been for some time. We sold all the caltie under hammer excepting two cows, which were disposed of immediately after the sale at the original • r serves. We yarded close on 100 head of cattle, and over 400 iheep. The following were the rates realized :—Fat bui ocks, L7.17s 6d; fat cows, L 5 ss; 2k yr steers. L 3 ls 6d to L 3 Us; yearling steers, 32s to 33" ; yearling heifers, 17s 6d; yearlings mixed, 2ls to 27s 6d ; 2-yr heifers, 3.1s ; milch cows L 2 to L 3 ; cows and calves L 2 5s ; shorn hoggets, 6s - Ud; hoggets in wool, 8s; fat sheep passed in at 10s; small pigs, 6s to 9s; hacks, L 3 to L 6 , ~ •
