Those who are interested in tlie Maori race will remember that the late W. P. Snow, who came to Auckland about two years ago from the United States for the benefit of his I ealth, started the vernacular journal Te Korimaka, urged a temperance crusade and in other ways worked for the elevation of the natives especially of Rotorua district. These labours of 1 >ye have been continued by tlie deceased genlleman's friends, who are actuated by the same earnest desire to benefit the Maori race. .No better proof of their devotion to the work could be found that than the fact that Mrs A. R. Snow, mother of Mr Snow, and Mrs W. P. Snow, his widow, hare arrived by the mail steamer to supervise the supervise the agencies for good which he inaugurated. The first named lady has never been in the colony before, but VI rs W. P. Snow was here with her late husband, and gained the esteem of a wide circle of frieds. — Auckland Star.
