Wellington, December 18. Leary and Campbell report tliat there is still a steady business doing, but the effects of the near approach of Christmas has not yet been felt. Oats continue to be offered freely but rery few transactions are taking place. Old potatoes are now quite out of the market ; the new crop may be still quoted at 9s cwt. Onions are now plentiful, and the market uncertain. Bran and pollard still rangi* at L4 10s to L4 15s ; oatmeal, LI 4 10» ; Fleming and Gilki. son's guaranteed flour, L9 ; pearl barley, L2O per ton ; butler i.s without alteration ; cheese 5d to s|d ; fowls, 4s to 4s 6d ; ducks, 4s 6d to 5s pair ; turkeys, 5s each ; hams and bacon (in cloth), 9£d to lOd ; eggs, Is4d ; green peas, 6d to 8d per peek.
