Government Bonuses

— — -♦ The following bonuses on local industries have- just been gazetted:— Starch—A, bonus of three hundred pounds will be given on the first 50 tans of good marketable starch manuf nctured in the colony of New Zealand. Printing paper— A bonus of five hundred pounds will be given, for the production of the first 50 tons of printing paper made by .machinery, permnnpn'ly established and working in the colony. The bonus will be paid to the producer ■who effects the first bona fide sale of the amount of printing paper specified. Silk — A bonus of 50 per cent, on the value realised for the first thousands pounls worth of cocoons of silkworm or silkworm's eggs produced in the colony, to - be paid on quantities of not less value than fifty pounds (£6O) nor more than qne hundred pounds (£100), produced by •any one person. Iron— A bonus of one thousand pounds will be given for the production in Xevr Zealand of 300 tons of pig iron of a marketable quality from or produced in New Zealand. Wrought iron— A bonus of one thousand pounds will be given for the production in New Zealam^iby direct process) of 200 tons of " iron blooms" of a marketable quality from or produced in New Zealand.
