Franco- Chinese War
j (BBUTEB'S TELEGRAMS.) i Received December 9, 0 50 a.m. Paris, December 7. A despatch to hand from Tonquin states that desultory fighting occurred between the French forces and Chinese troops. The French have beon generally successful and the Chinese are now retreating in consequence of the defeat inflicted upon them.
