I The House is now adjourned. The parleying which has been pro- ' ceeding between the representatives of England and Spain resulted in the latter giving a pledge to support an AngloSpanish commercial convention. The Australasian squadron will be augmented shortly by H-M. sloop Gannet, six guns, 1,130 tons at present lying at Malta, where her furnace plates are undergoing repairs. The Chinese are claiming repeated successes over the French troops in Tonquin. Twelve Chinese men»of»war have been ordered to the island of Formosa to take part iu the operations against the French there. Several members of the crew qf the ship Berengaria, which went ashore on the coast ot Essex, and a passenger named Grey, have been rescued. The captain, second mate, pilot, and eight of the crew are stiil reported as missing. Off coast cargoes of wheat have been sold on the Continent for 35s 3d ; nine cargoes, forward shipments, have been disposed of at an average of 355. Paris, December 6. Despatches have been received from Madagascar, announcing that parleying has been again commenced between the Ho vas' leaders and Admiral Meot, commanding the French forces, but that no terms of settlement have yet been agreed upon ' _-____________-____--.
