THE ELECTIONS. _PBR UNITED PEES3 ASSOC* ATION."! Wellington, December 5. It is understond ihat many; difficuitiea were experienced by the Government in framing the regulations for the election of a board for the Government Insuranre Association, and it was not until to-day that they were sufficiently shaped so as to be presented to the Executive Council, which they passed, aud have now been forwarded to Christchurch for His Excellency's signature. They are to be gazetted in a few days. Tho votes of policy-holders are to ne taken by means ***-»- of voting papers which wili be supplied by Government. It is more than probable . that the nomination day will be fixed for a date prior to the 20th of December, and in order t® avoid having the election on during the Christmas week they will take place during the first week in Jauuar _'-
