NEW ZEALAND MARKETS.
The iN.Z.L. & M.A. Company report under date of November 6 : — Tallow and Fat. Christchurch. — The continued depressed 'tone of the English market induces melters for export to exercise the utmost caution in their purchases ; there is, t'irrefore, less life in the trade and prices are scarcely so firm. Auckland.-?- Quotation? are not so firm, owing probably to the present unfavorable state of the tioine markets; but the supply n<»t being equal to the demand, rates remain almost unalterred, viz., 25s to 26s per cwt. Wellington.— The locai demand for shipment is somewhat dull owing to the uncertain aspect bf the London market. Prime mutton meets with enquiry, however, at up to £31. Wanijymi.-i-Verv little doing during the mohth.^ Prices are still well raaint lined. v Potatoes. Auckland^-rAt the - beginning of the month there was a decided improvement in prices, as high as £6 10s having been quoted. The market is, however, now much easier, • Current values being, say £5 10s per ton. Wanfcanui. — Scarce. Market bare. First class samples not to be got.
