STOCK SALES.
Messrs Stevens and Gorton report :— At Awaliuri on Friday, tho 14th, about l«hj headf of cattle and 4UO sheep were yarded, and at Bulls on the 18t!i, 160 head of cafcile and about 700 sheep. The bidding at both sales was rather dull, but w«» were able to qua most of the stock, at and after the B*les, at following rntes : -Awahuri : 2 years steers (rou*h), £2 6s ; 2| to 3-years steers, £3 6* ; 2-ye.-ir heifers, 35s to £2; mixed weaners, 21s ; mixed hoggets, m woel, 9a 9d ; fat wethers, shorn, 10s Id. Bulls: 2-years steers, £2 12s 6d ; 3-years steers, £3 14s 6d ; forward bullocks, £5 ; yearling steers, £2 10s ; milch cows, £2 7s 6il to £4; t-wes and lambs, 11s 3d; Merino rams. 2 guineas. The Merino rams imported from Canterbury were of splendid quality and shewed grand fleeces of wooi. The balance of those unsold will be: shorn and put up at the ram fair in February next.
