A meeting was held in the KiwiteV; ''' schoolroom oa Monday evening to male* ''•' arrangements for holding an entertain,- • > -. ment for the purpose of raising fnnds-to start a library. The Be* W. Stewart > was voted to the chair. The Chairman in a few words stated the purpose for which the meeting was called. After pointing out the advantages arising from a library he stated that the school which had recently been started was in a very I; impecunious state, and suggested that the funds accruing from the proposed entertainment should be devoted to the school as being the more pressing at the : time. It was resolved that the Chair* man's suggestion should be carried but. A committee of ladies was appointed to ascertain the possibility of holding a tea * meeting in connection with the ooneert to beheld on Friday, December 19th. A committee consisting of Messrs Tappin, Banks, Hedges, Kidd, and Templar were"- A' 1 appointed to carry out the affair. A •■«?-•' hearty vote of thanks to the Chairman brought the meeting to a close. ' :
