TIPPLING SONS. (advertisement.) (Continued.) Hear the confession of a young man, whose pocket money, while sufficient for his needs, was not more than j sufficient i— " From many a grievous, sin have"! r : been delivered, through | wanting the means of committing it j I {ad I committed . them, they would ' have bound me hand and foot to this daj- I can never be thankful enough for being denied more pocket-money ln my youth." A sentiment Worthy of being written in gold and suspended before tbe eyes of every parent of sons in tho land. I ask again— Have parents been sufficiently watchful over their son3 l There are symptoms which, to a quick eye, herald the approach of well nigh every disease, symptoms which, if instaDtly detected and attended to, would effectually ward off the approaching danger . The trouble is that many parents fail to perceive tbe bad symptoms when they - appear, or, seeing them, dismiss them trom their zninds as unimportant and trivial. &«ch persons are not fit to be parents, I will touch on a few symptoms. which, like tbe muttering of a coming storm, moan mischief. I'here is the latch-key symptom for one. And a very suggestive one to a watchful mind, for what occasion is there for a young man to stay out after the household is gone to bed ? Crrtainly no worthy, respectable occasion can keep a young man our. of his own home nu>ht after night. Let parents beware when the latchkey symptom appears. There is mischief brewing. That young man has stepped od an incline which leads to darkness and sin. And let those parents who are forward to supply the latch key not be surprised if bv-and-bye they find cause to regret it bitterly. That latch-koy will before long let in a drunkard. To be continued.
