The Hussar contingent and camel corps hare reached Assouan and ' will proceed towards Dongola at an early date. The Ist Battalion of the Koya.l Irish regiment, Ist Battalion Royal Kent regiment, and Ist Battalion Gordon Highlanders will ascend the Kile next week tor Khartoum. LoetxJn, Octobe^29. Persistent reports have been received stating- that Khartoum .had fallen, but they lack official confirmation. Received November 1, 1.30 a.m. ; , Cairo, October 30. . Intelligence has been received here from Dal announcing the arrival or Lord Wolseley and staff.
