WARWICK STEEET BRIDGE TENDERS.
TO THR KDITOB OF THB STAB. Sic, — I wish for space to at once replj to the letter of W. E. Chamberlain. He says the Borough Council did quite right in not accepting" nay tender, and then goes on to say he does not know anything about Mr Bray's capabilities as an engineer, but he doe* know Mr Hammond 'a. Well, sir, he knows this, that I never pretended to be an engineer. But, sir, is such a paltry job as the Warwick street bridge to be done only by an engineer P Oh, I say help us if itis soF'Tnen he goes on to 'say -he does not wish to I say- any more, unless I^wishhihjjto do j.so. Now. sir, this would anil doe* infet^ that there is something that would for ever hinder me from doing 1 sudi work, which I most emphatically deny, and all that I will say on the matter is, that I consider myselF quite competent to do the wort, and will, whenever I get the opportunity, prove myself so to be although I am no engineer* • .
