The Poultry and Produce Show
The inaugural exhibition of the Eangi-tikei-Manawatu Poultry* and Produce Assowatien/.whieh.took place at Bulls on Tnesdav and Wednesday, was in every way a^g^at : success. ; The; attendance was large, and included visitors from all along, th? line; between. Wanganui and Foxtoo, were 60 pairs of poultry; 4^vhich, on the whole, could not be beaten any whejre 4n the colony. -Of our local exhibitors, .Mf Sherwill took, the prize for the besii bred hen in the district, and *» also for tho best yellow canary. Master F. Saxon-took first prize for a tabby cat, and Dr Johnston second for retriever dog. There waa a splendid show of dairy produce, especially of hams and bacon. Mr Eeteineyer, the indefatigable president "of tie Association, the energetic secretary, Mr Fitzgerald, and the general committee.are to be congratulated in having had their efforts to put the Society on a gopjiisftUjp*. and make, this opening show a success , thus, so amply rewarded.
