The French authorities are boarding English merchant steamers both at Amoy and Formosa. Commodore Erskine has been instructed to proclaim a British protectorate OTer the southern shores of New Guinea and the islands immediately adjacent. The Willawie Pastoral Company of Adelaide has been projected with a capital of half a million. The Tongariro has arrired with her moat in splendid condition. Prime New Zealand mutton is realising 6|d per Ib. The term of office of Sir F. D, Bell, Agent General for Now Zealand, will shortly expire. He was requested by the Government of that colony to retain the position for another term, but he has resolved to retiro and he has communicated his decision to the New Zealand Government. Arrangements have been made for complete colonial representation at th» Colonial Exhibition to be held in London in 1866. Canada, Australia, Cape Colony, and New Zealand will take part. The steamer Massifhora, which was despatched to advance up the Nile with a cargo or cables and other gear to be used by tho boats in making the passage of the cataracts with troops, has arrived at Dongola. London, October 13. Cargoes of New Zealand mutton ex Northumberland and Tongariro hare been landed in good condition and are realising current rates.
