STEVENS AND GORTON'S STOCK SALES.
Messrs Stevens and Gorton, report :— Over 120 head of cattle came forward at our sale at Feilding on September 30th. The attendance was good and the bidding for beef and all class of steers spirited. We quitted the several lots at the following satisfactory prices:— Beef, £7 Is to £8 5.s ; fat cows, £6 ss : 3-yr-old steers, £4 19s ; 2 to 3-yr steers, £3 10s ; 2-yr steers. ££ 12s 6d; 18-month mixed, 355; yearlings, 30s to 32s 6d ; store cows, 32s to 37s ; milch cows, £4 10s. ' At Sanson, on October 3rd, we yarded over 75 head of cattle and 140 hoggets. The attendance was very good and the demand for hoggets greatly exceeded the numbers offered, for which there was spirited bidding. The following are the rates realized :— lB- month mixed cattle, chiefly heifers, 31s ; weaners, mixed, 17s; 2yr steers were passed in at £3 10s ; wether hoggets, 8s to 9s 0d; mixed hoggets, 8s 6d.
