[bkptbb's telkgbahs.] Brisbane, Oct. 4. A serious collision occurred to-day on the railway line near this city. The drirer of one of the trains was killed, and several passengers seriously injured. The railway material was also much damaged. Milbottbne, October 4. Plausible has been heavily backed for the Melbourne Cup at 25 to 1. A patient at the quarantine station died yesterday from small- pox. Received October 7, 0.55 a.m. Meldoubne, October 6. Maurico and Paganini are scratched for the Melbourne Cup. Plausible is quoted to-night, in the betting on the Cup, at 14 to 1*
